Illustration Friday--Broken
It is such a bummer to have a broken arm on Halloween.

Blind Contour Friday 13
I did this while waiting for a kid at the movie theater. It's some sort of new fangled movie ticket machine.
And as a bonus: more ghosts!

Ghosts
I'm having one of those got to draw some floaty ghosts days. Unfortunately, my scanner isn't very good at picking up subtle washes so this looks pretty different in my sketchbook. Stupid scanner.

Blind Contour Friday 12
This time I drew the beautiful Japanese doll that lives on top of the cookbook bookcase/dvd storge unit thingy in my kitchen. How was that for a clunky way to describe it? It's not a cabinet, it's a freestanding media storage unit that happens to be in the kitchen and hold cookbooks and dvds. Wouldn't it be great if there were a word for it, like "holdenstuffen" or "flarg?" So I could say "that lives on the flarg." Isn't that better? Smoother I think. Anyway, here she is.
Posts here will be a little sparce until the end of November. Right now I'm getting ready for Nanowrimo by writing a warm up story and trying to ramp up the word count as I got closer to the 31st. So I will be doing pretty much nothing but writing all month. I might do one or two pictures and I'll still do Blind Contour Friday because those are too fun to give up for anything.

Blind Contour Friday 11
Maybe I need to work on a larger piece of paper or something, but I seem to have a thing with trying to draw everything in the same place. This was fun to draw anyway. It's my tiny amaretto cookie tin that I had to have because when I was a kid my best friend's mom had one in her kitchen.

You might think this is some kind of distortion, but no. This is exactly how I've looked since the accident. It's tragic, really.

Illustration Friday--Float
One day the seals decided to have a party on the local float. That is Shore Patrol on lifeguard duty and a relative of Monseiur Snuffy snuggling up to the anchor.
This was my first time using gouache for a whole painting and I gotta say, I'm hooked. It's much more fun to work with than watercolor or acrylics.
Goache on paper.
