Blind Contour Friday 12

Doll

This time I drew the beautiful Japanese doll that lives on top of the cookbook bookcase/dvd storge unit thingy in my kitchen. How was that for a clunky way to describe it? It's not a cabinet, it's a freestanding media storage unit that happens to be in the kitchen and hold cookbooks and dvds. Wouldn't it be great if there were a word for it, like "holdenstuffen" or "flarg?" So I could say "that lives on the flarg." Isn't that better? Smoother I think. Anyway, here she is.

Posts here will be a little sparce until the end of November. Right now I'm getting ready for Nanowrimo by writing a warm up story and trying to ramp up the word count as I got closer to the 31st. So I will be doing pretty much nothing but writing all month. I might do one or two pictures and I'll still do Blind Contour Friday because those are too fun to give up for anything.

This is nice, all your continuous lines give it a great form. I like this a lot. Flarg!

so nice. it reminds me of the quick gesture drawings i did in college. I like how it all leans to the left.

Wow, this one is great. Now that was a really challenging BC. You have her kimino perfect.

this is nice i like the fact that its a flowing subject she looks like she is dancing on graph paper which is wel, square. opposites work well together.

wow! I guessed what it was before I scrolled down to your explanation. I had a flarg in my kitchen where we used to live. Fortunately, I was able to replace it with a juncabin on wheels for our new place.

Another nifty drawing idea. :o) This is great and very detailed, but you did a good job as I can see what it is quite easily. Flarg indeed. :o) That is a great word..."I too have a flarg in my kitchen.." :o) I'll have to try it sometime.

Hi Kim, thanks for answering, I've only read "Snow Crash" (actually listened to) and wanted to try something else he'd written but a bit daunted by the trilogy's length (the reason for my question) wanted to see how enthusiastic you were, from your response think I'll see how I like "Diamond Age" first, thanks!

Very nicely done! The details on the kimono are very good :-)
