Blind Contour Friday 9
Sorry it's late--we had a windstorm yesterday and the power/cable/phone went out in the early afternoon. The phone and cable didn't come back on until the middle of the night, thus my tardiness.
Anyway, here are my keys. Well, actually it's mostly my collection of keychains all stuck on the same ring with all FOUR of my keys. You know, library cards, grocery store cards, Tamagotchi thingy, etc.
I don't know what's with the big gap, though. I guess I thought I was trying to smash everything into one area so I moved over, just a bit too far. Or I had a seizure. Who knows.
At least there are no weenies this time.

A Month of Softies--Personal Challenge

For September the theme was to "try your hand at something you have been meaning to get into for ages but can never find the motivation to do so." I immediately knew it had to be a miniature vignette.
Since I can remember I have found miniatures fascinating, but not the dollhouse kind. The kind I love are the ones that are more of a three-dimensional picture that tells a story. They do not include any "people" but have obvious signs of habitation.
The bed and night stand are made from twigs; the quilt is stenciled and hand sewn. The rug is braided yarn and the teacup, candle and candle holder are painted Super Sculpey.
This is nowhere near being done, but this is what I have so far. It will be a small cabin with a wood-burning stove, pictures and mementos and maybe a sink with a hand pump. It's meant to be a tiny get-away type of place, a sort of happy-place maybe.
Anyway, with everything that I've got going on, this will definitely be a long-term project. But I am so glad I got an excuse to finally try it.

Blind Contour Friday 8
I started out with a piece of construction paper and made the squares with colored pencils. Then I drew three sets of measuring spoons in blind contour. What's with the white being so bright? It's not that bright on paper, but somehow my scanner decided it needed to STAND OUT!!!!
Update: I didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want to draw attention to it if it wasn't too obvious, but please pardon the "weenie effect" of my drawing. It had me giggling, but I was hoping nobody else would notice. Good weenie eye, Niff!!! (I'm just glad nobody noticed the same thing in my last BCF).

Illustration Friday--Escape
She realized she should have asked some questions before agreeing to the blind date dinner with Sir Flarg.
By the way, though invisible, the title of the book in Sir Flarg's hand is Pomes by Flarg.

Illustration Friday--Depth
I guess I didn't draw dark enough because my scanner didn't pick it all up. Stupid scanner. Anyway this one's going to be a painting, too. Eventually.

Illustration Friday--Roots
I am going to make a painting of this, but I ran out of time for the Illo Friday deadline, so there's just the drawing.

Blind Contour Friday 6
This is supposed to be my stand mixer.
I decided to try color this time. I put some pencils in a cup and chose them at random while I was drawing. I found out it's kind of hard to keep track of where you are when you change colors like that.
Go check out the other entries at inkfinger

Everyday Matters Challenge 5
I am working my way through the Everyday Matters Yahoo Group challenges--at the rate I'm going it ought to take about five months but that doesn't bother me. More painting, whoo-doggies!
This one is my bed with Nyla, looking rather like a very large loaf of bread, sleeping on it. But then again that's pretty much what she does look like.
