A Month of Softies--June Bug

For my submission this month I thought I'd go the obvious route and just make a bug. This is Irving. He is an elderly beetle type gentleman who enjoys sitting in the sun and munching on tender leaves.
He is seven and a half inches from the top of his antennae down to his bottom and is made of fabric, sculpey and wire.
Click here for a larger, more detailed picture of Irving.

Illustration Friday--Black & White

This is an abstractified portrait of Diego Rivera that I did after watching "Frida." It's not of Alfred Molina, mind you, but the real painter. Though in photographs he looks more like a squashed frog than anybody's idea of a leading man I can see why the ladies flocked around him anyway. He just looks powerful.
Then there are some pipey things underneath.
Here are some other people's ideas:
cerebral obscura
objects and pixels
chillies and chocolate
blue calico

Illustration Friday--Summer

This seems to have turned into the all Illustration Friday posting place for me, but now that school is out I'll be changing that. There will be much more time for other drawings/paintings, purses, dolls and whatever else sounds like fun.

Wish me luck!

Illustration Friday--Digital

This is my take on the theme "digital." I'm not up on all the new-fangled digital illustration stuff so I went for the the "fingers" aspect of the word. It seem sometimes that the themes that mean the least to me initially end up being the most fun to come up with something interesting to draw. Strange.
Here are some cool ideas of "digital":
